Flock to C-U Flea for CUZine!
Good morning, gang! Sad to say but, as of this week, it’s been seven full years since we released the last issue of C-U Blogfidential’s parent publication MICRO-FILM. This means we’ve now been fighting the good indie film culture fight via CUBlog and C-U Confidential for roughly the same amount of time we originally poured into the Magazine of Personal Cinema in Action between 1998 and 2005. Such a lengthy haul means we’ve accumulated tons of cool stuff here at the Secret MICRO-FILM Headquarters and starting tomorrow, Saturday, October 20, we’d like to recruit your help in clearing some floor, shelf, and closet space as well as cutting into a bad case of the printing press debt blues. We’d be grateful!
Between 12 and 3 p.m. – or maybe 4 p.m., if you twist our arms – we will vend alongside several other artisans and craftspeople at the third C-U Flea community flea market/swap meet at the Parasol Label Group building, 303 W. Griggs St., Urbana. Our set-up will be stocked with back issues of C-U Confidential and MICRO-FILM at discounted prices, while you might also find bonus loot for cheap tucked away underneath and behind the magic black tablecloth! Since we currently do not offer our wares through an on-line storefront or eBay account, there is only one way you’ll be able to discover if anything piques your interest, dearest readers/watchers/collectors – you must seek us out at C-U Flea!
According to the Facebook Event page, C-U Flea merchants will offer “clothes, artwork, house wares, homemade things, prints, jewelry, records, books, and more.” Admission is free and added attractions will include homemade chili for the tasting, free bike tune-ups courtesy of Neutral Cycles, and live band performances from 3 to 6 p.m. featuring Mazes, Fred Thomas, and Charles and the Gnarlies. We believe you can also browse Parasol’s record inventory as well while the Flea is in full effect!
If you have any questions about C-U Flea, please direct them to Millie and Cole by writing cu [dot] flea [dot] contact [at] gmail [dot] com, and here is a Google map for the Parasol location. Come hang with us!
