SUPERMAN casts in the ‘burbs
Luckily our man Don May, Jr., of Synapse Films posted on Facebook about this week’s casting calls in Chicagoland for the impending production of Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL, otherwise we would have forgotten to pass along an update. To be directed by WATCHMEN and SUCKER PUNCH hotshot Zach Snyder, this SUPERMAN will star Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, and Michael Shannon in yet another retelling of the iconic DC Comics hero’s origin, which shouldn’t dissuade you from attempting to get in on the action! First check out this wise if cheeky “dos and don’ts” of extras behavior by Patricia Batson on Yahoo! News, and then visit this “Autumn Frost” Web page for contact information. (We assume the name is a ruse to deflect casual fame seekers in the tradition of Lucasfilm’s 1982 horror flick “Blue Harvest,” a.k.a. RETURN OF THE JEDI.) On-site auditions have already taken place on June 18 in Naperville, right next to Aurora where your humble editor lived his high school years, and June 22 in west suburban Plano, the small town in which he grew up, with one more scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, June 25, at Chicago Academy of the Arts, 1010 W. Chicago Ave., Chicago, IL, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Interested parties can also apply on-line at the above “Autumn Frost” link. Good luck, super-talent!
