CLEAN SLATE
April 2011
Question: Which movies do you plan to attend later this month
during Roger Ebert’s Film Festival at the Virginia Theater
in Champaign, IL?
.
A Small Act and Life, Above All
.
I intend to see “Metropolis.” I have only seen bits of it through the years (blasphemy, I know), and look forward to seeing it now as well as hearing the Alloy Orchestra’s accompaniment. I also look forward to “45365”. I saw part of it on WILL recently. It’s shot in Shelbyville, Ohio. I grew up near Shelbyville, Indiana. Apparently, the two towns share much more than a name. I thought I was back in Hoosierland while watching this fascinating slice of life in a small Midwestern town.
.
Life, Above All (have always loved the South Africa film pick (for obvious reasons :). This one looks particularly powerful, especially given the history of the director’s work
.
I’ll only be in town for the first couple of days, but I’m hoping to get to see Metropolis and Natural Selection at least.
.
None.
