FIELD REPORT DU HQ | From Wherever It May Be Said
What did you do to me, C-U? I returned to Momkoke Manor after my first visit in more than a year and a half, and now I’m absolutely sick for the second time in four weeks. I’ll take a massive head cold over consecutive days of vertigo, I guess. It was nice to see a good number of familiar faces including Damian Duffy and Eric Benson, Drea Aarons, Mark Roberts, Thomas Nicol and those Champaign Movie Makers, Jason Croft and Shannon Beranek, and current PM buddy (and former PS co-worker) Don Waller. Hopefully I didn’t pass it on to others. As a COVID avoider to this day, an uptick of sick always jars me.

17 Years Ago … Saturday, February 25, 2006: Opteryx Press of Champaign launches C-U Blogfidential, an Internet adaptation of the “C-U Confidential” section from their flagship journal MICRO-FILM. In the first entry, dated 8:57 p.m., editor Jason Pankoke describes an intention of “[making] a minor splash creating a community history through cinema, one that we can definitely call our own,” with the forum as its potential epicenter. CUBlog has published local film-related content every single month since then. [R]
