Student film showcases have bloomed in downstate Illinois! We point you toward one virtual and two physical events based at Millikin U. in Decatur and U. Illinois in Urbana. Are u ready to attend?

The late musician and Urbana resident Jay Bennett is the subject of new documentary and record releases, WHERE ARE YOU, JAY BENNETT?, now available nationwide through MVD Entertainment Group.

Singing words of wisdom, the numerous folks behind a new audio/video rendition of “Let it Be” want their Champaign-Urbana neighbors to feel better about our future and invest in the care of others.

A pair of documentaries with downstate Illinois ties, WHITE HEAT/BLACK ASHES and WHERE ARE YOU, JAY BENNETT?, are close to completion. If interested and able, why not nudge them along?

It has been a long while since a feature-length project has emerged from the WILL-TV studios in Urbana, so we welcome ILLINOIS COUNTRY with open arms. It airs tonight, March 6, 2020, at 7:30 p.m.

The Workshop Films Collective, a newer group devoted to developing technical skills and honing storytelling concepts, is led by John Isberg and gathers weekly at Shatterglass Studios in Champaign, IL.

Diversity is key to experiencing this wide world through film. Witness it through our previews of SEEDS, UNDERGROUND SOUND, THE ART OF SITTING QUIETLY AND DOING NOTHING, and – yes – TURKISH STAR WARS!

It is our sworn duty to trot out the evidence of independent filmmaking in Champaign-Urbana when the opportunity arises. The Suede Chain finally got back together, so therefore we discuss their DREAM WHEEL CIRCUS.

Colleagues are paying tribute this weekend to New Orleans, LA, resident Trevor Alan Taylor, a multimedia artist and promoter as well as former Champaign resident, who passed away this summer at age 34.
